I have some questions, which probably can't be answered right now or won't ever be answered by the show, but I'll try anyway. Spoilers obviously.

The one armed man said Coop was tricked, and now he or his doppelganger have to die. The tree said one must return before the other can leave. It seemed clear that the tree's doppelganger is the one who tricked him, and tried to throw him out of existence, but what's the deal with that? Is the evil tree trying to keep Evil Coop in the real world? Why? Are the trees just lazy metaphors for God and Satan?

How do doppelgangers work? Is an evil or good counterpart created automatically when you enter either lodge, or are the trees doing it? The one armed man said Vegas Coop was manufactured before he popped into a marble, and before that Coop was pulled into the lodge, his left arm went numb. Did the one armed man possess him to pull him back? Did the evil tree create him, and did having two Coops existing at the same time in the real world somehow allow Evil Coop to stay out of the black lodge?

What was that whole scene with the blind woman about? Was she expecting Coop to be touching that electrified thimble as well, killing them both and sparing them from whatever was behind that door? And the second lady he sees... Coop thought she was Audrey, right?

What the fuck was that black ghost two cells away from the principal who floats away? I get the feeling that'll never be explained, or be brushed off years later by Lynch as "oh, it was just the principal's deep feeling of regret manifesting itself."

What's blue rose? After the space face says it, there's a blue rose in the room when Coop goes back in. Then Albert says it, and Lynch says something like "never better." Were they just describing the color of the atmosphere, or is it FBI code for something?

Is BOB anywhere, or is he just gone since Silva is dead?

One more question. Why does every episode end with a shitty emo band?

the thing that most strike me of the series was the switch of atmosphere from character to character, the "genre" switch between each storyline, and the way that only the horror story-line was the only thing able to permeate and transverse all of them, but wasn't really able to take hold of their daily lives, the transcendent was something that striked but then vanished and dissoluted as fast as it came

if you watch certain episodes again is really obvious, you go from one scene of brutal murder to the next with the cops stopping for some donuts at the dinner, one would expect the whole tone to evolve with the darkness, yet here it doesn't, they take it, maybe learn sth from it, and then go back to their daily intrigues

it goes from film noire to gilmore girls in a single second

this is mirrored at the very beginning episodes when each story-line is set up and each character is given a "theme", audrey's pink-panther tier song, donna the very soapy theme starts playing that then repeats itself in every James-Donna iteration, the eery theme that comes in every time Laura Palmer's is brought into focus again

its all about the interaction between naivety and perversion, direct speech and suggestion, or daily life and the trascendent/beyond, this interaction is mirrored from the very premise of the show "a teen is murder-raped by his dad" to the lodge spirits playing with humans, to pete's and catherine functional/disfunctional marriage

Tree is just a different form of the little man.
In the original series, the One Armed Man said that he used to be evil and BOB's partner but repented and cut off his arm (which supposedly made him to evil things). The Little Man/Tree represents that arm. As such, they are evil like BOB.

I think that the spirits can take the physical form of anyone who has either been possessed by a spirit (Laura, Ronnette Pulalski, Leland, Maddie) as well as anyone who enters the lodge (Coop, Annie, Windom). The first group tend to be vulnerable whereas the spirit of Coop (and Annie, as well as Major Briggs), meant that the spirits couldn't simply possess them and needed to draw them to the lodge. These evil doubles are referred to as shadow-selves.
As for Dougie Jones, no idea. The only thing I'm thinking is that he may be to Cooper what Maddie was to Laura Palmer. This is further backed up by a Sycamore Street in Dougie's town suggesting some duality between there and Twin Peaks.

Also, the ring (emerald with an owl symbol) belongs to the Little Man and I think it lets him control people who wear it. It has a significant role in FWWM - it is given to Laura Palmer by One Armed Man before she dies to prevent BOB from possessing her, and has to kill her instead.

But as for creating Dougie Jones, I don't know. What I suspect is that Bad Coop would have had his body taken over by Good Coop whilst returning to Black Lodge himself but set up a surrogate Coop to avoid that.

The blind woman I think was meant to be Josie, who's currently stuck in a spirit realm after she died/got sucked into the wood in the Great Northern. Similarly, that girl wasn't Audrey but Ronnette Pulalski, the girl who BOB raped alongside Laura Palmer the night she died.

Blue Rose is concerned with supernatural cases under Gordon Cole. Similarly, Project Blue Book (which Major Briggs was heavily involved with, as was Windom Earle for a short time) concerns supernatural phenomena. In real life, the Blue Book concern UFOs. "Never bluer" means "never more surreal/strange".

BOB currently occupies Coop's body, similar to Leland I'm fairly sure. But I don't think we'll see BOB as BOB this series due to Silva dying.

It hasn't quite been established what we've seen in Twin Peaks (the red room). Whether it's the waiting room or the black lodge. It seems to be primarily occupied by evil spirits which would point to it being the black lodge but then the Giant (as well as the One Armed Man being a reformed bad guy) appear there as well.

From what I understand the White Lodge and the Black Lodge occupy the same space but entering it depends on your soul and your emotional state.

We still can't really say for sure if the Black Lodge is the Red Room is the Waiting Room, but that they are linked.

One thing I don't quite get and thought was a bit of an inconsistency is Laura Palmer still being in the Red Room. At the end of FWWM, her spirit (my interpretation) ascends to heaven/The White Lodge. But then she's there in season 3. Then again, time doesn't occur linearly the Red Room which may explain it's name as "The Waiting Room" (or it may refer to the spirits waiting for Coop).

Also Senor Droolcup is arguably a good spirit and he's been there. Similarly, One Armed Man is good now. Senor Droolcup (the old doddery man) seems somehow linked to The Giant.

As someone said earlier, the theory seems to be that Douge was a "doppelganger's doppelganger" created by Evil Coop or the evil tree to be a surrogate body he could jump into if the black lodge tried to pull him back, but the one armed man possessed him first (causing his arm to go numb) and somehow put the ring on him, shielding his body from being possessed by Evil Coop, resulting in both of them vomiting up like fucking piggos. One Coop (Dougie) returns to the lodge, allowing the other to leave, and Good Coop takes his place, but falling between the cracks of existence to get there turned him into Rain Man.

The end of FWWM is presumably the Very End of the story, when Laura's soul is set free. Might be after all the shit that is currently playing out in the current series.

Unless, when Cooper saw Laura, she'd temporarily come back from wherever she was to speak to Cooper. Then ran out of her allotted time & was drawn back (hence the screaming). This could explain why she's aged and why under her face she's a being of light.
