300 spawned a bunch of greek/roman mythology flicks. All I've seen had all the action bits in the trailer, and nothing happens in most of the actual movies.

i keep saying this, but GOE is the EXACT same thing as the mummy returns. seriously, go rewatch it. it's completely ridiculous, super dense with so many things going in in each frame, one goofy macguffin chases another (bracelet of anubis here, spear of osiris there, oh and we're all reincranations of ancient egyptians now, and here's a sequence with CGI pygmies in the jungle etc.) - it's a fun adventure romp through a fantasy version of ancient egypt, it drowns in too much bad CGI, everyone loved it and brendan fraser was revered by all

now this comes out, it's the same deal, but in this decade you're now supposed to hate it because it has too many white people and it's not ok to like colorful cheesy adventure flicks unless you're marvel i guess
