The armor would protect you from bites, cuts, scratches, and other small injuries a zombie might deal to you, so you get good protection. However, the weight is something you need to focus on. You can physically carry only so much, and having 40 kg (Roughly 88 pounds) is a lot to carry already, especially if you are on your own with no real safe haven. Add the weight of weapons, food, water, clothes, shelter etc. etc., and you've got a lot of weight you need to shoulder around. And should a zombie knock you down or you trip and fall, have fun getting up.

Then you need to take weather into account. If you are in a hot and or humid place, then you are going to cook inside that armor. You (probably) wont have an easy way to take it off, so you'll be spending a lot of time inside it.

So, yes if you manage to fortify a base and have a group of allies at your back, then fine, wear armor. But until then, it's not gonna help you find that safe base in the first place.

This show peaked with Rick and Michonne driving 2 cars with a strung up metal wire killing along the crowded highway, killing like 800 walkers.

I don't know why you have trouble understanding the scale of gun ownership. There are more guns than people in the US. Less than 1% of humanity is alive in TWD. That is 100 guns per survivor at the absolute bare minimum and evidence suggests an even lower survival rate on TWD. Merely breaking into every average home in the suburbs would yield endless amounts of guns and ammo. And all of that is ignoring looting gun stores, manufacturing plants, or army stashes.

Those fighters in BoN can fight maybe like 2 minutes straight, after that they become exhausted.
Moving in that armor also restricts your movements. Letting a zombie on you would just end you there, because you would be tipped over in no time. Getting back up in armor while a zombie or two are on top of you would be impossible unless you've been working out your whole life.

Wheels are great on flat city streets and less great on rougher terrain. Plus a backpack leaves your hands free at all times. Plus you can't really carry a wheelbarrow up a ladder like you can a backpack, or wade through deep water with it, or whatever.

Far more useful if you're staying in the same area for a while and know where you can/can't bring the thing. I wouldn't want one for long-distance stuff though.

Hilltop has a black smith who arms the Hilltop, Saviors, and Kingdom with spears. Even before that they used makeshift weapons to take care of walkers on the fence at the prison.

It's like 99% of people who bitch about the show don't watch it. I'm not saying it's perfect but it's kind of ridiculous.
