Memes aside this was one of the most genuinely funny shows I've ever seen. Will definitely have to find some episodes and rewatch.

I fucking hate it when people act like any localizations from Japanese media that take liberties are the worst thing on the planet. Takeshi's Castle was a great show in its own right, but MXC turned it into something else on top of what it already was with its dub.

Just because it's Japanese doesn't mean it's perfect, and for some reason a lot of people who consume that culture have an allergic reaction to localizations that may or may not improve on the source material. Fuck weeaboos, is what I'm trying to say.

First of all. OP, you are a true hero.
Everyone in this thread made me very happy. I discovered MxC back in the TIVO days. MyTivo suggested it for me based on things I'd watched, and I am forever grateful!
A few years ago I ordered some DVDs really cheap from Amazon. They're cool because they have a couple episodes of the original show, Tashikis Castle, either dubbed, or with accurate subtitles, which was cool to see, since you can make sense of how the show actually goes.

And even though I was a fan of WipeOut, which BLATANTLYripped off MXC, and am a fan of American Ninja Warrior, which is less so, it's all good times. MXC can still make me giggle hardcore.
