It's funny that a mary sue is being branded as feminist, because a mary sue isn't about how women are strong. A mary sue is about how one character, in particular, is a super special snowflake.

Are there any other female characters in TFA (sans Leia) that are as a capable as Rey? No. I mean, we have yet to see how the whole thing with Rose goes, but so far the message isn't "women are strong too". The message is clearly "Rey is super strong and special", which is basically reducing her to be an ideal no ordinary women can relate to. Where did I praise Lucas? I'm saying that the prequels are worse movies than TFA, but both the prequels and TFA are so bad that they enter that zone where the only way they can be entertaining is by being hilariously bad. And the prequels, unlike TFA, are hilariously bad. They are bad in a way that's entertaining.

I'm actually tired of Star Wars now. We've had so many misses compared to big hits.

I've always felt the original trilogy was all that's needed. Say what you want about them they work pretty well together.

The Prequels were a clusterfuck.

The Force Awakens felt like a remix of A New Hope. Rogue One felt like pure nostalgia pandering.

Ironically the best thing since the original trilogy were the games. KOTOR and KOTOR 2 expanded far more on lore than the movies have even attempted. The movies feel like safe-bet pandering now.
