If they wanted to do it right, I think the show should have followed this progression:

People should be familiar with Genghis Khan. He had a weak power base at the start of his rule, so everything would be introduced slowly through showing his clan and confederation's structure.

Basically it would be shown to the audience how before the Mongol Empire the tribes were loosely united under tribal confederations and everything was chaotic. They could use all of the major historical parts of his early life as flashbacks to show how the situation was very unstable and based on the prestige/alliances of prominent warlords.

Also, empathizing with his character is definitely possible through his early rule being tumultuous. He was defeated after his first election as Khan of the Mongols and spent 10 years simply leading his clan/confederation until he regained prestige through aiding a Jin attack on the Tatars.

I enjoyed the first half or whatever it's called but have no desire to watch the second.

Production crew fag here. Netflix didnt want to bring Baz back bc he single handedly wrecked the entire production. for weeks, we'd come in, set up the first shot, shoot it. Baz would watch it via his own wifi link. find stuff he didnt like, then one of two things would happen:
