I think the Red Room is the Black Lodge. However I don't think the Purple Ocean/Machine Room are in the Black Lodge proper, more like an annex area. The machine in that room is used by Lodge spirits to travel through electricity. It makes the same sound the Arm and Señor Droolcup make and that can be heard in FWWM multiple times (in the Fat Trout trailer park as well as just before MIKE tailgates Leland).

The Giant, which is a 'positive' entity, appears in the Waiting Room next to The Man from Another Place and they claim to be "one and the same". Two realities coexist in the waiting room and, as S3 shows, there's a constant struggle/interference going on between them.

In FWWM Phillip Jeffries knows about Cooper's situation

This feels like Im watching 55 minutes of characters wandering thru a desert, then in the last 5 minutes something small happens to move the paper thin plot along.

I'll stick with it, but holy shit its complete drag.
Its complete lack of a compelling story, interesting characters and that unique tone of the older shows, is just replaced with fluff.
In some ways it feels like some poorly done caricature of the originals. Like they hired some art collage student and told them "Do what youre best David Lynch impression"

I think people wanted it to be more interesting from the start, it feels like Kubrick's 2001, do we really need a 15 min long scene about someone walking in a circle? Then 5 minutes of someone walking in a hallway? Or for fast-paced and mindfuck ending in the last 30 minutes? Twin peaks had some great horror, triller, soap opera satire, comedy etc elements and they were well balanced (especially in S1), now it feels like it's 80% hard drama, 15% horror/triller and 5% everything else. Black lodge was also more interesting when it appeared not so often, felt more misterious (even though now it's even a bigger mindfuck). Its hard to judge it after episodes but I can't wait for some Hawk-Cooper bromance and other crazy shit that is unrelated to black lodge.

Loving the new season but:
The lack of original score is kind of annoying (inb4 pleb filtered/lynched XD)
Its not necessary to use it loads, in fact the way Lauras theme was used so sparingly for the bobby scene was amazing, but I think it needs to be used in the campy scenes with Andy/Lucy just to make it less fucking cringy. Hearing them talk without the familiar jazz drums in the background makes it so hard to watch.
Music was one of the things I loved about the OG series and even tho I appreciate Lynch's sound design and I understand it's done on purpose I still wanna hear more of the ost.

Was anyone sort of flabbergasted with the way this started? I mean, by episode 4 it was sort of falling back into "Twin Peaks", but I honestly was really surprised to see Lynch go there with the first 2-3 episodes. Of course it is going to be much darker, weirder, and explicit than the original run, but I really expected him to keep some of the balance the original series had.

That being said, what with the way season 2 ended, it makes sense for it to pick up where it left off, but it doesn't really explain why people in the real world acted so odd. Then all of a sudden the people in Twin Peaks act like regular humans? Seems inconsistent.
