i have dropped into cinemas on my way home from work and picked up 2 large buckets of popcorn and sat them next to me on the bus on multiple occasions. the trick is to heat it back up in the oven because it's cold by the time you get it back and the microwave just makes it soggy.

Not really. Once in a while I'll get a small popcorn, but I try not to over indulge with sweet drinks, etc. A water or a large coffee is what I'll bring in with me, if I want to drink anything. I think working in a movie theatre when I was a teenager put me off movie food completely: hotdogs, nachos, all that shit, no thank you.

Living in the UK where the popcorn comes in either sweet or salted varieties in the theatre, I've always wondered what the addition of butter does to it. Doesn't it make the popcorn all mushy? I want to try it, either way.

I don't drink soda anymore, which is a shame because I don't know what it is but I like whatever ratio they use at my local theatre in regards to syrup and soda water. Perhaps I'm weird, but I like that watered down, slightly flat flavour compared to what you get in cans/bottles at the store.

I like popcorn, but my local theater's popcorn sucks.
I never buy sweet popcorn or candy either in this kind of occasion. Not that I don't like them, but a whole bag/tub over the course of a movie? I'd get sick of it after 20 minutes.

I'll settle for chips, or nachos with cheese/hot sauce. As for soft drinks I usually prefer iced tea. Carbonated drinks go flat after a bit, even when they are carbonated properly, and iced tea tastes fine even if it's a bit watery.

That being said, I'll buy food at the theater something like twice or three times a year, if that. I pretty much always go right after dinner, and I don't really feel the need to eat.
