He's visually talented, he pionereed a style that's now prominent for action scenes in all kinds of blockbusters. He's not that great of a storyteller sadly.

Also the way he soldiered on through JL dealing with his loss would make for a movie that would probably be better than JL itself. The man is truly an inspiration

You can have exactly those same ideals and still lack the wisdom to understand that saving someone's life might be more complicated than just carrying them to safety. DCEU Superman was just reaching the point where he understood the message is just as important as the deed about halfway through BvS.

While BvS had a terrible shitty story, I appreciated it's aestethic, and the visual direction. Be honest, it looked lke a graphic novel come to life. Whether that's good or bad is up to you to decide. I liked it. He should've just done man of steel 2, and tease batman in the end, leading to BvS. Corporate fuckery likely ruined his vision by trying to catching up to marvel way too soon.
