Will Bay finally deliver true RoboKino?

He redeemed himself by making his best film last year, so he's free to continue making these garbage movies and I won't care.

Yes

I think it would be hypocritical personally to enjoy shitty Japanese kaiju films from the 90's and 60's and not enjoy Transformers its pretty much the same level of entertainment but with a higher budget
I've seen every TF film in the theaters because otherwise there's no point. The last film was a great viewing experience because besides some of the most beautiful pyrotechnic works I've ever seen there were some hilarious errors like an extra being caught in a frame and disappearing a second later as well as the Willis tower appearing in the background of a location that is supposed to be in China

That movie was shockingly good. Was blown away when it said "directed by Michael Bay".

Good list but i'd bump Dark of The Moon up a bit. The second half was pretty great

13 Hours had a genuinely good script, could have been Oscar nominated if it had been directed by Ridley Scott but because it was Bay, it was not taken seriously.

Do people actually still take Scott seriously?

The Martian got a shitload of Oscar noms, just because of his name. It's delayed reward for the actually good stuff like Alien and BR. It's the way institutions like these, and even critics or audiences work. They're always 30 years late. Like how Scorsese won for his worst film.
