>ITT: movies you wish you could (re)watch for the first time
>>83102281
I was 10 years old first time my grandpa showed me this movie, was absolutely terrified and in awe the entire time, god i loved that man
jurassic park
>>83102281
Aliens
>>83102281
Godzilla vs Hedorah, rip Mr. Banno
>>83102281
Probably "Ida" or "Blue Valentine"
First movie I saw during a crisis of faith that I eventually gave up on, the second was right after a break up.
Still two of my favorite movies, but I'd love the feeling I got from watching them the first time
Saw this in IMAX. Craziest movie experience I ever had. I know it has it's faults, but it is an amazing space epic in my opinion.
>>83102585
dude love lmao
>>83102527
What movie is this?
>>83102281
What movie is this?
>>83102281
Not really a movie, but I'd fucking rewatch this for the first time.
>>83102691
Platoon.
>>83102625
Dude memes
>>83102691
>not knowing both
Why are you even here? To answer your question, OP's one is Carpenter's The Thing and the other is Coppola's Apocalypse Now.
>>83102719
This + The Wire.
>>83102281
There won't be a greater feel in my life than watching Terminator 2 and Robocop for the very first time, I was like 5yo and 7-8yo back then, and basically they were my first movie experiences.
>>83102585
I watched Interstellar in IMAX and Inception too, damn Nolan can really know how to provoke emotions and thrills.
>>83102798
Yeah I was gonna post it too. David Simon is the fucking king of TV shows really.
>>83102762
I'm here for the masketta man memes, anon. And how can this be Apocalypse Now if >>83102722 says it's Platoon?
>>83102316
Did you ever have sex? :)
>>83102316
Did he also touched your peepee?
>>83102585
Me too. Saw it with a girl I was dating at the time, we actually got late to the screening, but we ended up crying when he got the messages from his daughter 20 years later.
>>83102982
This is actually one movie I found better with each rewatch, but when I first watched it I simply thought it was garbage and didn't really like it.
>>83102966
Platoon anon is wrong.
Search the quote
this almost doesn't count because the rewatches are infinite
>>83103168

>>83102762

What's the matter, snowflake?
Are you mad because normal people don't like your trash?
>>83104584
I watched it for the first time this year, pretty good to be honest
Don't know why people in this board hate it so much
>>83104573
dude please do it, I loved it, watched it about a month ago for the first time. get comfy, make sure the temperature is cold and the room is dark.
>>83104638

>>83104666
>666

>>83102281
I have very vivid memories of watching Alien for the first time. It couldn't have been more perfect, I was about 12, smuggled the tape out of Movie Gallery because the guy working the counter was a total bro, snuck into the living room at midnight, plugged some headphones into the stereo and proceeded to scare myself shitless and sleep through school the next day. Still my favorite film after all these years
>>83104638
Literally Francis Ford Coppola
>>83105163
that's a neat story :3
>>83102281
this
>>83102281
>>83102316
my grandma is a SciFi nut so she exposed me to a lot of good shit growing up. grandparents are cool.
>>83102316
I was 7 when my dad showed me Alien for the first time.
To this day, Alien is the only horror movie that really unsettles me because I'm fucking horrified of the xenomorphs.I've yet to finish Alien:Isolation because I honestly feel like I'm going to pass out any time I play, and I've only played it for like 1-2 hours total
The Thing
Predator 1 and 2
Conan
Terminator 1 and 2
Alien 1 and 2
Starship Troopers
>>83102281
Lord of the rings comes to mind
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
>>83102281
Why do you guys think The Thing is hailed as a masterpiece now even though it was a critically panned flop when it came out?
;_;
Tropic Thunder, This is the End, The Room, Pandorum
I desperately wanted to kill myself after watching that Solaris remake with George clooney for the first time. Never watch that shit the week after a breakup from a long-term relationship.
LOTR
300
Unbreakable
Jackass
The Matrix
Also I really wish I saw Interstellar in IMAX
>>83102316
My grandpa was the same way except it was Terminator 2, Tremors, and Jurassic Park for me.
It was everything I grew up loving done in a modern way
A love letter to my childhood
Bonus if it took me back to the first time I watched it, I was still with her then.
>>83106010
That game single-handedly made me stop drinking soda
My heart felt like it was gonna burst
>>83103011
>>83106207
what a classic
damn
Titanic Tbh, it's really fucking good.
Terminator 2
Saving Private Ryan
Team America
>>83106230
Patrician
Is it weird that I have never watched a movie more than once?
For a series probably star trek, cause I saw so many bits and pieces of it before I actually watched it
Star Wars Episode3
Vertigo
Went in blind so I had some fun trying to figure out what was going on.
>>83106300
>tfw will never watch KvS for the first time ever again
Borat, probably. It's not as good with repeated viewing but nothing made me laugh more the first time I watched it.
FUCK
ME
Godzilla (1998) was my first and best cinema experience. I'd like that again.
Yeah I liked it and still do, deal with it.
Amadeus
Jaws
The Thing
Airplane!
Gattaca
Cloverfield
Alien
why can't you faggots list the title in your posts?
>>83106510
>never get to watch KvS on CBC as a child for the first time with your brother.
FUCK
>>83102281
>>83106255
omg die
>>83106540
Saw this one the other day. It's a shame the budget cuts reeled back what could have been polished.
>>83106828
redditors like you dont deserve to be spoonfed
>>83102357
What makes this film special in any way? I legitimately disliked it and even found it obnoxious at times, especially the scenes with the fruity black dude.
>>83106360
fucking lord
I forgot about this
>>83104738
Probably cuz it was okay as a movie but the world creamed their pants over the 3D gimmick and muh SFX so it did really well
>>83102281
It's a shame that Youth was so underwhelming.
>>83102281
I saw it for the first time last week. The only scene I knew about, because it had been posted here before, was the head coming out of the guys stomach.
Everything else was new to me. Definitely the best practical effects I have ever seen.
Astounding ... it was actually, beyond belief.
