the title was better when it was called Goodfellas

Technically better directed than Goodfellas. So many classic shots.

Both stellar movies, would be perfect without those two. May be realism, but I don't want that reality.

I always get it confused with Goodfella's, besides Ray Liotta what's the difference?

My favorite female performance in any movie. Sharon Stone was incredible. Played the character in three acts really. Never seen anything like it.

Sharon Stone did a fantastic job, I'll agree to that.

But I cannot for the life of me understand why Ace kept trying to make it work with Ginger. She had to be something special in real life, because that just didn't translate over to the movie. Ace was supposed to be some odds wizard, but it seemed like he was just thinking with his dick when Ginger was involved. He knew she was lying to him and only agreed to marry him because he was well off (and to her credit, she tried to talk him out of it and only agreed after he wouldn't take "no" for an answer), but Jesus, sometimes you've just got to let go.

The best part about Nicky and the desert scene is that he's absolutely right. He may be annoying and bring a lot of heat but if he wasn't around there would be other gangsters that aren't friends with Ace fucking his shit up on a regular basis, which is why Ace just has to stand there and take it.

Her plot kills the momentum and is the reason the movie is too long and bloated. There was something kind of interesting about her appearing as the beautiful grifter and what affect that had on the Golden Jew, but like 10 minutes of that would have been enough. Learning about their home life added zero to the movie, and the affair between her and Nicky was just disturbing.

- De Niro's character. Jimmy and Ace are way different
- Pesci's character is different. Nicky is a lot more angry and has a lot more screen time.
- The story and plot. Goodfellas is about three low ranked gangsters and Casino is about a Casino owner, his friend and wife.
I could go on but come on. The only thing they have in common is the Scorese, Pesci & De Niro, and the mob/mafia setting.

When i was a kid i was supposed to write a paper on local history. I lived in galveston. I ended up writing a 25 page paper on the maceos and the galveston mafia. It's actually a sourced paper in the university of houston library now, which is funny because the tillman fertita, like the 50th richest man in america and director of the uh board, is related to the maceos and the guy in the movie.

History is super interesting if you want to dig it up.

The only excuse plebfellas fans say why Goodfellas is better is 'Casino is just a longer version reeee'. Well Casino also has better character development. The characters can breathe and flex their muscles, so to speak. Now lets mention the way it was shot and its cinematography. It is one of Scorsese's best shot films. Every scene has a shot where it looks like a painting. Goodfellas does not.

I think the worst example is when Ace catches the two blokes trying to scam the casino, and Ace is narrating it AS it happens instead of just letting the camerawork, acting, shot composition, etc. speak for itself.
