My theory based on the last scene.

After David "saves" the last two survivors (one male, one female) he coughs up two face hugger embryos. Most likely royal face huggers, and while not only seeing the return of a Queen, but also introduce a King.

Of course not. That said, do we know it's technically a hive? Not really (using only the knowledge of the movies and no comics or books seeing as how they don't even have canon among themselves) I mean, sure they're pretty insect-like but maybe they're not? Plus, Hollywood can't help themselves when it comes to cool new designs, just look at those little neomorphs. Not only is their design new (like a king would be) it makes no sense that they're sensitive to light, since they have no eyes and especially when one of them burst out into a blindingly white room.
