If this was in TDKR people would have laughed themselves out of the theater. The movie just shouldn't have had Bane in it at all, the entire concept is silly

Bane in TDKR is a composite of Bane from the comics and the Mutant Leader from The Dark Knight Returns.

In fact he's much more like the Mutant Leader. All he really has in common with comic Bane is the backstory.
