Post the saddest tv finale
Fringe

meh...they were in purgatory the whole time!
>>82977049
Shit man, that was powerful stuff and you would never expect it from a comedy. Also that battlefield that turns into a meadow fucked me up,you realize how many men way younger than you lost lives honorably and now no one cares.
>>82977124
This. Also, Blake's 7.
>>82977810
>asshole gets what he deserves
>sad
>>82977124
The only thing sad about this is that it came 5 seasons too late.
>>82977124
fpbp
beat me to it. Winchester's interactions with the Korean musicians was something else.
>>82977333
>You will never see me again. You will never see me again because it had to be this way.
>>82977524
They weren't.
Way to not pay attention at all.
>>82978915
I remember reading that the writers left it ambiguous as to where they really were. Purgatory was one theory, and seemed to be accepted by many. Is that not true? It's been a long time since I watched.
>>82978961
The church they were all in was purgatory, the island wasn't.
They weren't in purgatory during the whole show, what happened on the island really happened.
>>82979066
How do you explain the strange as fuck things that happened? Smoke monster? Massive electromagnet capable of taking down planes? Among many other things.
>>82977612
This looks British and old. What show was this?
>>82977049
What show is this? Mr Bean?
>>82979136
>>82979144
blackadder
Downton Abbey S3
>>82979106
>Massive electromagnet capable of taking down planesCoincidence. The plane the main cast was in was fated to crash on the island
The smoke monster wasthe evil of mankind
>>82979106
Magic and fictional/nonsensical science. Still not purgatory.
>>82977838
except he didn't get what he deserved at all
he got away with it
>>82978646
Came here to post this, pleasantly surprised that someone is already on the same page. Growing old/loss of innocence hits me so much harder than character death.
https://youtu.be/deXk8xuUHWQ
>>82979251
Too bad you can't turn the clock back.
>>82978462
Agreed
>>82978646
Jesus christ it hit me so hard when that aired, the realization that this wasn't a joke - that it had to happen at some point. I always thought ATHF was going to be this pervasive force for just...decades, like the Simpsons.
>>82979251
>>82979325
I honestly didn't believe it was the last episode. I watched it, laughed and enjoyed it, but didn't think much of it until a few days later when I realized that was it. The fucking end. I'd say that ending hit me harder than M*A*S*H, which was especially touching.
>>82977049
i cri everytiem ;_;
RIP in gulag.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3difXqlpwVc
I cried from so much laughter if thats what you mean by sad.
For how much love this show got, the ending is very underrated. You really feel it when Rust finally opens up about his emotions
>>82979650
I watch this once in a while to remind myself that there still hasn't been a finale to beat this one.
Still, Brenda being bored to death, literally, is quite funny.

>>82977333
I'm glad season 5 happened so we got that ending instead of the season 4 one.
>>82979650
I couldn't get into this show. I've tried a few times but can't. The characters, the humor, the overall tone just don't work for me.
>>82980724
I'll admit, I only watched it because I'd heard the ending is good. And it is, but it doesn't work if you don't watch the entire thing.
https://youtu.be/G3FoSdYEAP0?t=1m11s
>>82980071
>Rust
You mean Jesus
>>82980071
Genuinely don't remember what happens
http://youtu.be/acrZGc3rfg0
That series with the puppet/animatronic dinosaurs where they all get destroyed by a meteor in the last episode out of nowhere.
>>82980724
Yeah me too, I watched the first 3 seasons, and I think I like it a bit but I just can't be bothered to keep going. I'd rather rewatch The Sopranos for the 16th time than make it through SFU once.

>you can't take a picture, it's already gone
>Nate running behind
>Ruth seeing nate and her husband
>David seeing Keith a final time with the music slowing down
>Just wanting the dates to stop showing because you've grown to love these characters so much despite their flaws, but they keep on coming.
Somehow I endured all these pretty well, even though they really touched me.
>Claire the photographer dying blind
This one fucking hit me like a truck full of bricks.
>>82980909
>>82980724
>>82981849
It's a painfully slow show with very flawed and often annoying characters.
It only works because of the ending, and the ending only works because of the rest of the show, because it isn't until the ending that you realize that you loved the characters despite their flaws. That's really the strength of it, it proves to you that you care even if you hadn't realised it.
What about Scrubs with JD leaving the hospital?
>>82984439
That's the happy hopeful version of >>82979650.
It was fucking perfect for that show, and that 8th season really managed to pull it all together after the declining past 3 or 4 ones.

>>82979439

The best seasons were the first couple ones where the worst character was alive.
I non-ironically liked this show. Fucking fight me.
>>82979650
Never understood why this finale got so much love. I loved the show, but I wish they would have just ended it with Claire driving away
>>82984572

>>82985181
fucking hate them for adding that text when they found out it was cancelled
they could have done an updated movie by now with a happy ending
>>82985315
You can love that you just have to be willing to accept chad's leftovers like chuck did
>>82984738
I liked this show so much I never saw the ending because I would cry every tiem
>>82985347
Why did the hell did they choose to end it on this note?
>>82984827
Because the entire show was a reflection on mortality and all the characters dying ties it all together.
>>82977518
Was he fighting for Germany?
>>82985436
I liked the ending. ABC decided not to renew the series midway through their last season so they needed some sort of abrupt ending. It fit perfect.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9b9aoINXzk
>>82977810 is the absolute best finale ever aired on television.
>>82980071 and >>82979151 are also great.

aw fuck. time to rewatch for the 10th time
>>82977333
damn. i've only watch 'till season 3 or 4.
should i finish it?
>>82977398
I did enjoy this ending.
Never understood the hate.
>>82986310
Deadwood movie is in production, you're getting a finale.
>>82984738
This show took a head first dive into a pool of shit more than any I've ever seen. I think its because Buscemi's character and his annoying ass wife weren't even really that interesting compared to all the other side characters.
>>82986310
>It's my favorite show of all time and it ended hanging
Wants me to tell him something pretty.
>>82984738
I won't fight you. It's my favorite show.
>>82986380
um. Hasn't this been a thing since it ended?
Is there actual news that i haven't heard about?
>>82986430
I might just re watch the whole thing all over again.
I just downloaded some new rip of the Blu-ray not too long ago.
>>82979151
This is the saddest, and the most brilliant. I just love that David Chase TOLD YOU what happened with the writing and direction of the episode, but he forces you to paint the ending in your mind. The shit honestly haunts me.
The Heart She Holler ending crushed me. Not because it was sad but because it was so miserably awful. It was just an excuse for PFFR to go "Lol, look how random we are! Epic!"
I get the kind of show it is but I still expected some small amount of resolution or closure. I used to consider that my favorite show but the ending spoils everything for me.

I was more sad for D. Tennant, it was his life dream to play The Doctor. He truly didn't want it to end.
>>82985349
>Updated movie
>Sam tps into the the original 2017 election timeline where Hillary wins
>manages to change just enough to get Trump to win
>last scene is Sam turning into Jack Nicholson about to toss some whoppers over the fence to Marlon Brando
I mean could you imagine the hurtburt it would generate
>You may never know how proud I am of you.
>You changed my life coach.
>>82985436
>>82985593
the people who did the show were told abrutly they had to end it, after they had already been told they were getting another season. it was their FU to whoever, though all it would upset is the fans. i remember reading about it when magazines were still a thing
>>82988994
>>82979650
yep, got to me a bit. but not as bad as the first time i saw it.
and then i had the song on a loop for a few days after.
>>82984649
Fucking hell this gets me every time
The Hannibal season 2 ending is amazing. The music makes it the so much more sad.

Knocked up a waitress on a one night stand when doctors told him he couldn't have kids. He disappeared in the later seasons but in S5 he got a happy end as a family man and sports agent.
