I saw a good documentary a fan made on Dorne in the show. It was like four hours lol.

Basically they never intended to go to Dorne ever, but then they casted an actress they fucking loved as Obyren's paramour. So they wrote Dorne quickly to get her to do things for the show. Sadly they didn't plan the shooting of the scenes through, which leads to a lot of fuck ups athestically. The fight choreographer swears there's nothing wrong with the Dorne fighting. The problem was that they couldn't mount cameras anywhere which meant their shots had to be wide angle and basic.

Not many lords managed to such a growth in influence, aside from the Tyrell shenanigans against the Lannisters.

If the war/killings doesn't start, the Tully would be in a good spot. Of course it doesn't seem that way because all starks are dead/in the middle of nowhere, and the Boltons have the north... LF killed Lysa and seized the Vale... And the Frey took over the riverlands.
So it looks pretty dire... But if there's no war, the Tully gained much by those matches.

Probably a decent bit less due to historically getting fucked over from a lot of wars (no neat natural borders) and a bit less land area, but they should still be the second most powerful region in raw man-power at least.
The problems come from shit-tier bannermen and also in WoT5K they get fucked over early by surprise attacks and incompetent leadership (sorry, radmure) by a better-organised force who starts wrecking all their lands and castles, so they wouldn't be able to raise nearly as many men as they could normally.
If they went the Lannister route of dredging up as many men as possible straight off the bat, the war would've gone very differently.

I like Jaime's arc, and I like the character, but he isn't yet a knight redeemed. I'm with you that it gets irritating for all discussions to devolve into canonizing St. Jaime at the smallest hint of internal conflict. It makes his character a lot less interesting.
