just watched On Stranger Tides last night. the christian guy being portrayed positively was actually a huge breath of fresh air and one of the most enjoyable parts of the film
>christian character is uncut
wtf how could a director overlook something like this?

Circumcision was the covenant made between Abraham and God. Christ's sacrifice was the new covenant made between man and God. Any circumcised Christian is literally blaspheming against Christ and God.

>I know fuck-all about Christianity other than memes: the post
>the church is evil
>but god is a cool dude that you want to worship
this cliche needs to stop
>>82954893
>National Socialist Party character is portrayed in a negative light

Name 8 films. No seriously please do because it's irritating to see writers take the lazy route to shock viewers.
>>82954893
>tfw can't name Hollywood films that do this
>>82954893
This is the only time I sincerely ask with no meme intended, name one movie in the past 10 years..

How so? I never saw the flick doesnt it just bash Catholicism? (not saying there is anything wrong with that)
>>82955427
True, but they never would have included that if he wasn't balanced out by the militantly Christian Spaniards.

A Walk To Remember
maybe My Soul To Take
>Demiurge is portrayed as the true god

Jesus isn't the Demiurge, Jehovah is
That's why he called Jews children of the Devil

Circumcision is not blasphemy. It's simply not a requirement to do. It was the old covenant. The new covenant is not legalism (technically neither was the old but they missed the point) so people's circumcision or lack thereof speaks nothing of their spiritual state.

This!
>priest has a son
>character is christian
>casually mentions how he went to parochial school and was educated by nuns
>was not born in the 1800s
why does this fiction continue, catholic and christian schools have had actual teachers for decades
>>82955462
only americans christians are cut
>>82954893
>Christian's character gets dubs
>>82955462
>americans think genital mutilation is the norm
how horrifying
>character is clearly evangelical Christian
>shows esteem for priests, the Rosary, or the Pope
This is always enjoyable, especially when Christianity is being mocked. It's so transparent that the writer is either Jewish, or raised secular, and is critiquing something they literally haven't even bothered researching on it's most basic level
>>82958813
>cop is catholic
>addresses him as Father
>lets him slide because he's a man of god
No
>Character claims to be a Christian
>he is trusting in his own works rather than relying completely on Jesus Christ for his salvation

>The Telly host doesnt go into an eight hour long lecture about how everyone should turn their 5yr old kids into 'transgenders' and allow them to have sex with illegal immigrants
Wow, xenophobic much????
>>82961028
What are you talking about? The point of the post is that there has existed a bone deep irreverence for the Pope since Protestant's outset, a irreverence made even more extreme in Evangelicalism. The fact that someone is writing a Christian character that is mean to be evangelical but is pro-Pope, or uses Iconography, or says Hail Mary's, belies an ignorance on the authors part. It's amusing beaches they are attempting to criticize something and in doing so reveal how lazy and reliant on a shallow understanding they are

Is Spotlight actually engaging like Calvary or is it just "priests are evil" shit? The Vatican actually liked the movie apparently, but Mark Ruffalo seems like a huge SJW so I assumed that's what it was like.
>>82961264
My point was that modern Christians are a forgiving lot, to a fault sometimes, so they don't all have a thriving hatred of Catholicism. Besides, the Catholics have some beautiful churches and cathedrals.
