I always got a much stronger WW2 German Nazi vs. occupied French vibe. What with the underground resistance cells and collaborators during the war, and then the post war animosity. Clearly any occupied vs. occupier setting will pull from all different sources, but I never got an especially strong Israel vs. Palestine vibe.
