Mel truly shines with his historical movies but I would like to see him try a different genre.

As old as he is, I still think he could've done the new Mad Max. Would've added more character to it. Mel has this primality in him that I don't see in most other actors.

That said, I think he's actually done better as a director with 'Passion' and 'Apocalypto'. Haven't seen Hacksaw Ridge yet.
