What exactly snapped with season 2's finale? I've always enjoyed the show before but purely on a juvenile basis and watching someone genuinely pure learn such wrong lessons from the problems he encountered. It really did feel like like the show went through a complete change even though I can't detect any inconsistencies in characterization. Everyone in the show acted and reacted exactly as they were written to.

I loved the last season. I've just never been taken so off-guard by any other show I've watched, I can't wrap my head around season 3 is all. For a typical drunkard dad Clay was fucking fascinating there. The different tone made episodes like the reverend meeting/bonding with his daughter so much stranger to me with its sweetness.

Adult swim was the comfiest thing in existence when I was in high school/early college. I never really watch cable television much anymore so I don't know if it's still any good, but during the golden age of my late youth it made me feel a special kinda way and I'll always love it for that
Also it deserves special props just because of the undeniable creative freedom that the executives would allow their shows compared to all of the other television producers
