Cut to the reunion, he also tells her he can change into all his past regeneration's, and he demonstrates this by changing into the 11th Doctor.

the real 12 then stumbles onto his Tardis ready to regenerate. No mention of whether he regenerates in his Tardis just that he stumbles onto it.

Before Dark Water, I assumed they'd be horrible, flesh-falling-off, skeletal monsters, somewhere akin to a real person having had their face rippef off, if you've seen that, like a skull with blood and nerves etc on it. Then after Dark Water, just skulls made sense to me. But after this revelation, my first thoughts were exactly that - what do they look like? Are they really just faces painted silver with black teeth? How silly.

Since I'm doing things chronologically, the first farewell is far more poignant due to previous stories. The Doctor has been struggling to find a home for Susan for a long time, and it doesn't look like he just "abandons" her (which I know is many people's qualm with this story). The hair on the back of my neck stood up as he gave his speech.
