It started off pretty good. The show was genuinely funny when it was about Leonard being desperate for Penny's attention, Howard being an absurdly poor pick-up artist, and Raj being a strange foreigner who literally couldn't talk to women but usually ended up getting more tail than the others combined.

Sheldon was used as a contrast to Penny, and vise versa.

Now it's just Friends with less likable normies and a few nerd-references thrown in. Leonard especially doesn't even feel like a nerd anymore, just a normal guy who happens to have a nerdy-man's job.

I think the biggest problem with BBT was how it became a show that tried to characterize the "girlfriends".

The girls are now a large selling point in the series, to the point where they're being portrayed as "part of the main cast".

Which is absurd because they're by far the least interesting or fun part of the show.

What really itches though is the fact that there are now several "girl episodes", which are just episodes watching girly girls do girly things who happen to be dating nerdy guys.

The show was at it's peak mid second season when the guys were the focus of the humor and Penny only existed as eye-candy and a plot device Sheldon could bounce autism off.
