Havent watched it yet.

I hated it the first time and loved it the second. Mystery movies where the mystery doesn't matter usually require multiple viewings for me to appreciate.

By far my favourite example of film noir

Love every second of it. Discovered it almost two decades ago when a friend and I wanted something to put on as background noise. His mom compulsively bought VHSs. Like, his entertainment center had tapes that still had the shrink wrap on, ya know? I guess she would just get them if they looked slightly interesting and would just never get around to watching them.

So we pick it at random and put it on. We almost immediately abandoned the concept of just having it play for ambiance. We fell in love with it and for a while it was like a ritual to watch it, especially if we met a new friend.

I was stoked when I observed the meme status of the movie growing years and years after we made it our favorite movie.

I was kind of not paying attention the first time I saw it

Second time I was stoned out of my mind so I simply found it funny

Third time I realized how actually fantastic it is. A comedy that actually follows noir by the book in a great setting, with very good character interactions.
