They are badly paced, badly acted, focus too much on a dead romance etc. There are scenes from I and especially II that I love, but most of the movie is a slogfest to sit through. Leia was always presented in a love triangle with Luke and Han in IV and V and is shown as being Luke's love interest explicitly in IV, complete with Luke lusting over her hologram and the romantic music associated with her.
