I've always liked his shows because, while there is subtext to IRL issues it's always been subtle enough that one could enjoy the plot regardless of the political agenda.

That seems to be changing these days. Can anyone explain why companies are green-lighting shows where the message is now THAT explicit? It really makes look everything look like a political statement.

I mean, even though i agree with abortion i don't really care to see a show or a short about it. I don't care about the political statement, just give me a good script with good characters and leave the message as subtext to be read between lines.

The same with diversity, feminism and whatever. I'm ok with all of it being on the shows... but i don't really care about shows with that as a central premise.
