Well?
Also, I like how he made them kill themselves. Because burning to death sure is better than picking some cotton.

That scene was really awkward. Not quite as awkward as the MC being black, but still.

The white man don't believe in Anansi, and Anansi is a trickster God, what do you want him to do, throw a fucking lightning bolt at the ship? Most godly thing he's ever done was stealing Tiger's balls.

I haven't read the book in ages and barely remember this part. But in the book some of the "Gods" are shown convincing their followers to sacrifice themselves because they get a charge out of it. It's likrly Mr Nancy inspired the bloody chaos because that one guy pledged to do whatever it took to get out of those shackles. Be careful what you wish for and all that.
Oh and the Africans were prisoners of war or captured by other Africans to be sold to the eastern and western peoples. And at least the Dutch didn't clip his johnson off.

Sorry Joel. I bought some magic water from Peter Popoff

And yet Wednesday's trying to fuel his Godhood the very same way Anansi fueled his awakening godhood. Because Anansi didn't exist, at least the American version didn't exist until that guy prayed to him.

Anansi is the freaking god of cunning and trickery.
Anansi isn't even a god

>dying free is better than being a slave
This is true, but I fear this is a thing only Americans can understand. You are too European for it.
