Well, that's true though. Sapkowski may be a discount Tolkien, but he's the equivalent of such for all of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. His books are hugely popular there, especially The Witcher. The fact that it was so popular is WHY it got three games in the first place. The first two games weren't even near as successful as Wild Hunt, so it's understandable, albeit regrettable in hindsight, that he didn't think much was going to come of it based on the results of the previous two installments.

If they're doing every book per season, it'll be both. The first two seasons will be the former, while the following five will be the latter.

Though pertaining to the first two books, they should make two episodes for every short story. Otherwise there'd only be like 6 or 7 episodes per season.
