It should have ended with Season 7.

Even the best episodes beyond that season weren't as good as the average 3-6 episode. When 12 was airing I was really harsh on it, and I started to feel bad for shitting on it so much when everyone around me was saying it was fine, but seeing Dennis (and Glenn) leave validated everything. It should have ended a long time ago, the humility it once thrived on dies more and more with every renewal.

That episode wasn't terrible but it did create possibly the worst gag of the recent seasons, which is giving Charlie subtitles while he is too drunk to speak correctly. Not only is it obnoxious to have subtitles at all, but you can understand Charlie enough that his rambling would be funnier if it wasn't literally spelled out for you.

Every TV show has pretty much the same scale

Season 1 is meh the writers are trying to figure out what works best actors trying to get the characters right

Then the show starts to peak in season 4-5 and after that it's slides downhill, some shows faster then others
