AVPR for me scratched that itch of a Predator and ayys fighting with the Predator being completely indiscriminate between Xeno and Human. The teen angst shit was ignorable, R did the actual fighting alot better.

The thing with Resurrection is that you're getting exactly what you're expecting to get out of a movie like that.

With Prometheus Scott attempted to do a "smart" scifi with themes of meeting your makers that suggested grand operatic things and what we got is literally a paint-by-numbers horror movie with zero inspiration.
I mean the entirety of Prometheus is essentially a cursed crypt with a mummy inside stock story.
The only interesting thing is David and then Scott had to ruin that too by having him not only survive but also be responsible for everything else that happens in the franchise after that point.

Anyway, re watched whole series not long ago. Aliens holds up the best, Alien feels generic and shallow, i ts world dosnt feel unique anymore and the slasher b tier movie script dosnt do it any favors.
Im too young to watch the movies back in cinema, but watching one after another i felt the rage of people who went to watch Alien 3 only to learn all the cast was killed off screen between the sequels, i was fucking pissed. One of the biggest writing sins ever.

Also rewatching Prometheus made me realize the movie is even dumber i thought after it was than after first viewing. None of the characterization makes any sense and no plot thread is ever resolved. The giant doughnut killing the best girl still makes me angry, if the movie left have teh crew alive by the end it would not only open itself to a proper sequel it would also leave a better taste in my mouth.
