Look, I have no problem admitting that Lovecraft was racist and xenophobic, and I think it's important that those aspect of his writing aren't complelty ignored when talking about him.

I have this book, it's pretty good.

Don't worry guys, Lovecraft actually exists as an author and is referenced in the book. Events in the book are only mildly Lovecraft-related (stuff with magic cults, body swapping, portal travel). Truthfully you can take the Lovecraft references out of it and it would be pretty unchanged. The largest influence HP plays in this is that most of the cast are black horror-fantasy nerds and they're fans of him as well as Edgar Rice Bourroghs, Robert E. Howard, August Derleth, and all those other guys. They only use the term "Lovecraft Country" because they go to a creepy mansion in New England in a county spelled similarly to Arkham (Ardham iirc).
