Because he likes to play God and kill shit, its even kind of funny with the "look upon my works ye mighty and despair" , I mean great quote and all, but David,David, you didn't make the weapon, you are mearly using it on a bunch of hippies in the equivalent of the dark ages. We can do that with a lot less sophisticated weapons. Saying "we" cause a "colonization" force from the alien universe will probably get beaten by those guys with sticks and stones ewok style.
