I fucking hope to god they just cancel it, the past few seasons have been so fucking awful. Always Sunny was one of my favorite shows ever but many times throughout the previous seasons I've genuinely cringed at the show, it's so tryhard "wacky" now instead of actually just having the characters play off each other and everyone feels incredibly flandarized. The only good episode in the past 2-3 seasons or so was the one where Mac and Dennis move to the suburbs.

I think the sunny team handles their flanderization great, they're aware of it and amp it up per season (less so the last one). I think the problem with it is that, like you said, it's trying too hard. Way too hard, to the point where some episodes are flat out a reference to an older "best of" episode.

The latest Fight Milk episode in particular was a god damned joke of an episode, imo. It's basically screaming "remember Fight Milk?" in your face. They did the same shit with Chardee McDennis.

The only worthwhile episode of the last season is the pool one. That was their one golden nugget within the season, and the same could be said about the suburbs episode from the season before the last

Yeah, the pool one was alright. I dropped it like four episodes in the latest season, I think the last one I saw was the courtroom one with the small-handed lawyer and the mcpoyle dude with the bird. That episode was so fucking bad, forced, and utterly lacking in any subtlety, particularly the gags involving the two aforementioned characters that I immediately dropped the show.
