how the fuck did this win Best Picture?

It was the best film on the nominees list desu.
Jews hate Catholics
The Academy wanted to raise awareness of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.

I strongly disagree. It's far from what I'd call a "bad movie", but there's absolutely nothing special about it. The only thing the film has going for it is its script, and even then the script consisted of way too much dialogue. Other than that, there's nothing really special about it from an acting, directing or visual. I thought the whole nature of the Best Picture award was to examine a film as a whole and find the film which succeeded the most in all sectors.

You know what I hate about it?
EVERY SINGLE character has zero character flaws except for the pedos and evil church people.
I'm not a religious cuck, but can't One of them have a drug habit or something?
>>82794463
Yeah none of the writers had any character. The only "character building" moment that I remember was at the very end when they all seem apologetic about not bringing the scandal to light earlier than they did.

I'll say Room was better. But it didn't have any greater message or break any new ground. Just a slick movie, and those never win.

Mad Max: Fury Road should have won, but action movies aren't 'real' movies to members of the Academy.
>>82794945
Yeah, Fury Road or The Revenent.
