Watched this last night. What should I watch tonight? Kind of in the mood for something with a little bit more action.

Watch The Great Escape. Probably Steve McQueen's best movie. Also is based on a true story.

I'll put it on the list for another time. I'm thinking a little more modern as well, and not necessarily related to Bullitt in some way.

What I enjoyed most about Bullitt was the score. Everything else about it felt a bit dated. The quality was there, it just didn't click for me because I'm spoiled, like most audiences, through the escalation of things that happen naturally over time.

Goldeneye or that WWII movie with Clint Eastwood, now i 'member it's called Where Eagles Dare

If you liked the score, why not check out Dirty Harry, which also has a Lalo Schifrin score.

>Probably Steve McQueen's best movie
lol no

He's a secondary character in that for crying out loud.

The Getaway (1972)

I've seen all five Dirty Harry films already.

The score was much more prominent in Bullitt, one reason I could point it out. Very jazzy. I think the Dirty Harry scores are a bit more ambient and the films rely more on action.

If you want some more modern action movies, can't go wrong with some of Arnie's 80's movies. Total Recall, Conan the Barbarian, Terminator (1 or 2), The Running Man are all great.

There isn't a "main character" in The Great Escape, the whole movie follows the stories of lots of different characters. McQueen was always the most prominent character in that movie for me.

Actually, I haven't seen Genisys yet.

I might go for the original Gone in Sixty Seconds as well. Any thoughts on that one?

You are an idiot. The three leaders of the prisoners are the lead characters. They set the whole escape in motion.

McQueen only got a lot of press because of that stunt HE DIDN'T DO.

"There isn't a main character" FUCKING LOL
>>
>>82769438
I said there wasn't a main character ("a" denoting the singular form, meaning a *single* main character, if English isn't your strong-suit), and as evidence to prove me wrong, you pointed to three "lead" characters. The story follows several prominent characters and their escape attempt, as you rightly point out in your post. So then you must agree that there isn't a main character in the movie, since you talk about several different lead characters. Also, I never said in my original post that McQueen was the main character, I just said that it was his best movie (i.e. best movie that he was in).

Genisys isn't worth your time, I was quite disappointed with it given how good Terminator 1 and 2 were. I haven't seen Gone in Sixty Seconds, but as far as I understand it, they just made the movie as an excuse to do a bunch of cool stunts and car chases. It was directed by a stunt driver after all. If you like car chases/stunts, probably is a good film to watch.

McQueen played the cool rebel prisoner you idiot
>>
>>82769438
The Great Escape starts and ends with McQueen, I don't know why you are getting into a dumb semantics argument when its obvious that he's one of the most prominent characters.

I've seen the remake and quite like it. I'm a sucker for a car movie. Even Need for Speed was alright with me.

>>82769915
Hm, sounds like a serious take on Smokey and the Bandit. Definitely going on the watch list if I can't find a source tonight.

I was just joking about the action, but it is really great.

Oh, is it that slow?

I've still got time to just pop in Casino Royale or something.

If you want a great car movie/action movie, watch Mad Max: The Road Warrior. One of my favorite movies.
