the best way i can explain it is, the story is much better than BSG, but the acting isn't as good.

it's very much worth watching, if you aren't hooked into the story by episode 3 then it isn't for you.

i liked the show so much i started reading the books, and that almost never happens to me.

That was the only appeal and the whole marketing of the books then of the show. No artificial gravity, long travels in space with realistic ballistic. I don't think so, the math of the show is pretty solid for how much (little) detail they give us to work with, so it's always vague and therefore plausible. Sometimes they leak things they shouldn't have, like panels that show the speed and trajectories when they shouldn't have done that, but that's about it. In that video itself it's said that, the last absurd maneuver excepted, every other event is plausible when time and speed is concerned.
