prometheus is one of my favorite sci fi films. its not perfect...i suppose if you insist...but i love every single minute of that movie. its probably a top 10 movie for me (sci-fi). Id have to think about it but it could end up my 6th or 7th sci fi movie.

Did anyone else think for a second that the Alien on the covenant at the end was just a dream sequence? It seemed so schlocky and dumb and then they show whatsherface waking up, I figured she would have just had a bad dream from the traumatic experience, a la Aliens. But no, it turned out to be real and somewhat strange given that guy was only facehugged for a second.

Covenant didn't really have any Prometheus tier character idiocy to create events, the main things were:

>not wearing spacesuits/body suits on an alien world

>Krudup's character's actions were the only thing debatable, but keep in mind none of the crew knew about aliens the way the audience did so who would have expected a facehugger. Fassbender's character even comments about how curiosity kills the cat as he has shown him plenty of interesting things he has discovered/manufactured before leading him to the Alien pod. Krudup's character always feels in control since he has a rifle pointed at David the entire time.

I guess the major factor is they trusted David, even when it was somewhat clear he was a bit strange and that neither McBride or Waterston's characters checked that it was David or Walter before returning to hypersleep. I still thought that although the twist that it was David was obvious, it was handled quite brilliantly.

And McBride's character bringing the Covenant into a dangerous situation (storm), which I think was just a red herring(?) as nothing came of it.
