the practical aliens are great in dimly lit closeups but they look goofy whenever they move around in action shots. Aliens relied on quick editing on extremely dark lighting to make them seem less stupid but it's really jarring. Also it treated them like glorified cocktoaches. They were far from the perfect killing machines, more like target practise. Making them cgi was necessary desu
