As a funny and retarded side note, I always thought Craig T. Nelson and Ed O'Neill looked similar (we didn't have the channel that sent MWC when I grew up, so I never watched the show that much). And it turns out Craig was originally planned to play Jay Pritchett in Modern Family before he declined and Ed took over.

It is being made today. It's called Modern Family and Ed O'Neill has a latina wife and a gay son.
