>/tv/ says it's the greatest thing on right now
>watch it
>it's garbage series already full of itself and it's just started
Why do I keep falling for /tv/'s tricks?
>>82695198
because you have shit taste
>>82695198
It's great and you know it is
>>82695198
What else should it be full of?
>>82695198
>Neil gaiman
Nope
>american
Trash

/tv/ hates everything.
If someone praises a show you can bet he's a shill.
And you should never ever trust shills.
>Take a beloved character from a novel everyone loves
>Completely change his personality to make it edgy and in-your-face, like you consider your audience to have the attention span of a goldfish
>Shoe-horn in a bunch of racism bullshit
>Only fail to make him receive head from the woman at the start because Gaiman threatened to kill himself
It should be eviscerated in every online forum

Wait what? I loved the book but couldn'tget my brother to read it. He's down for watching the series but wants to binge it.
What went wrong?
Neil Gaiman is a Scientologist even if he claims he isn't and so is Amanda Palmer for that matter.
American Gods is propaganda.
Yeah I'm watching the first one now and it seems to take itself way too seriously for how dumb the subject matter is so far. I liked the intro with the vikings though
The point of the show is to make you think that it takes itself seriously and is full of it. You are perceiving reality through the eyes of Shadow, and he is being scammed. Wednesday said it himself, that he is a hustler and a liar.

I'll keep that in mind, but I meant more the totally cliched excon story and the "Look how fucking confident and cynically above it all I fucking am because I swear so fucking much" dialogue.

One thing to notice, Shadow is on the intellectual side of things. It's the rest of the cast that are try hards.
Remember what the old woman said, he isn't part of their world, whoever they might be.
Maybe they have a reason to be so salty, maybe the author just wanted to cater to edgy teenagers.

>it's shit on purpose
great
I don't understand what's happening : the show

i havnt read the book in 6 years but so far im enjoying it. Shadow is alright. Just seems like a normal guy reacting to all the shit.
