As shitty as the stories in these movies are, the Fast franchise is at its core what Summer blockbusters should be.
Entertaining movies that don't take themselves too seriously filled with a blend of practical and CGI set pieces.

I'm not in love with these flicks, but they are WAY better than a Michael Bay flick. The characters are generally likeable, the action scenes are creative and you can actually tell what is happening, and they capture a lot of that 80's cheese in an honest way.

Not sure why they make quite a much money as they do though.
