Would have been fine if it didn't take itself too seriously and the fight scenes were any good, but if you're making a film based on a 2D fighting game you need to do that right and it didn't. In the end it was just a cheesy shitty action film, and there were already lots of them in the 90s which were better - loads more superior JCVD films too.

Don't think I've seen Street Fighter since it originally came out on VHS, but definitely Mortal Kombat...it's still kinda amazing to me how well done that movie was, considering the source material.

I imagine if this guy was big in late 80s, early 90s, I'd worship him. His movies are probably on the same level as whatever Van Damme, Lundgren or Norris threw out in those days, but I just can't appreciate this stuff the way I did when I was a kid. I revisit Mortal Kombat every 4 or 5 years. It still holds up for what it represents. Street Fighter has some comedic value, but as a story and the way it played out, Mortal Kombat is simply a much better movie.

Sf is good in it's a so bad it's good kinda of way. Mortal Kombat is actually a good movie that represent the games in the 90s pretty well. If it was rated R and they could actually show some gore, it would be perfect.
