Whats the deal with this hack? Why are his movies such bland garbage? Why does he have no sense of scale or pacing? Whats the deal ith those fucking lense flares, helicopter shots and sudden zooms? Why studios keep on giving him big IPs so he could shit on them?

His biggest skill is being able to make execs retarded ideas into something watchable, that's the whole reasoning behind his success. Most of directors fail at that.
literally spielberg without the youthfull magic
I enjoyed his 2 Star Trek movies, but I hated TFA.

I suspect he's a good studio bitch. The (((execs))) probably don't even see him as a member of the tribe anymore, just as another shabbos goy.
But still I can't imagine why (((they))) give him sci-fi to direct, when it's clear he hates, or at least doesn't get sci-fi.

They were awful Stark Trek movies, but decent/transformers-tier action movies.
TFA felt like JJ ran A New Hope through the copier and into the shredder. Complete garbage.

>Star Trek
>make phasers into pew-pew Star Wars blasters
>Star Wars
>make blasters into blue lightning shitters
>absolutely ignore everything about space and basic physics
What did he mean by this.
he had about as much to do with the final product in TFA as I did
that movie was made by a board room

They definitely weren't very Star Trek, I'll give you that, but they had their moments that drew real emotional responses from me. TFA made me feel nothing but boredom and disappointment. I'm still crossing my fingers over TLJ though. I'm really hoping Hamill can shine brightly enough to keep me happy.

I couldn't agree more. It felt like The Hangover 2.
