Nightmare on Elm Street had the better movies, the remakes are about the same level. I dont hate them tho. IMO the hate for them is super hypocritical because none of them are their franchises perspectives worsts.

Nightmare for sure. It at least tried to be original instead of a shameless rip off of Halloween. Plus it had a lot of really great practical effects.

The first Friday the 13th was more of a shameless ripoff of Italian giallo movies. Especially the first person kills and mystery of who the killer was.

Nightmare 1, 3 and New Nightmare are literally kino.
All of the Friday movies are all pretty much on the same level as dumb slashers.
