He's still got a good 5 or so years before he starts deteriorating as long as he takes care of himself and doesn't get any illness. It's once you hit your 80s where you officially become useless and have to just wait it out till death. I remember when my grandad was mid-late 70s and he would work on his old car in his garage, go out on long walks, play football, badminton etc. with me and his other grandkids. He looked fit and healthy. And in the space of just a few years he became this frail old thing who couldn't even remember his kids anymore.
