>tfw no Hyperion movies or tv shows
why havent they made one yet?
hyperion inferior
Culture superior.
>>82536740
You can't be this much of a pleb
>>82536784
i'm not the one wanting a cuckperion movie, pablo.
Ian M banks > Dan Simmons hyperbole and olympos
Dan Simmons the terror and abominable, however > Stephen King
>>82536648
Bradley Cooper is working on it
Keep it to the first book, the last two books were fucking awful.
>>82536740
They're both good. Don't be a cunt
It really should be animated, 2D
>>82536648
>why havent they made one yet?
Because it would be trash. Not everything needs to be adapted into your pleb friendly format.
>activates bullet time
>teleports behind you
>impales you on the tree of eternal torture
heh...nothing personnel kiddo
>>82537152
/lit/, you realize nobody cares about you now that /his/ exists, right?
>>82537362
Philosophy is still largely discussed on /lit/ only because nobody wants to mingle with /pol/ autists trying to blame jews for everything
>>82537056
what a terrible opinion

>Reading genre trash
I think a lot of the stories wouldn't work on screen, and the audience would struggle to understand why people are getting alien crosses melded to their skin, why a guy fucks the Shrike and then sees in slowed time. I don't remember the other stories as well but I think those two were the weirdest
Seeing Kassad fight the shrike in live action mite be cool
>>82537579
>genre trash
t. mongoloid that doesn't even utopian theory
>>82537668
Priests story could be pushed back to avoid confusing the normies. The remaining stories have enough xplosions to keep the marvel audience entertained
>Kassad is dismembering people and having sex in VR, then kills a bunch of ayyys in zero G, then goes full neo with Shrike's help
>Silenus is a quipmachine just like my Rick and Mortys
>Sol's story is a quick tearjerker
>Lamia is Strong Female Characterâ„¢ (literally, she grew on the planet with stronger gravity), she ends up chasing some dude through a bunch of portals
>Consul's tale is literally Avatar
because it's fucking shit
first book was decent but felt like the sequel might not deliver, and holy fuck, was that the case
forget DUDE I LOVE THE TASTE OF KEATS'S MUMMIFIED COCK: The Novel and read the solar cycle you idiot SCUM
>>82537469
The first book with the 7 tales was definetly the best, the second part was okay but Endymion was absolutly awful
>>82538068
>Hyperion thread
>Wolfefags show up with their shitty "literary" fantasy schlock
Every fucking time. Dude, you've got issues
>>82537928
Oh man how did I forget all those, they all instantly came back to me as soon as I saw the names. Memory is a funny thing
Especially the Consul's tale, though I didn't think it resembled Avatar
What should I read now I've finally made it through all the shit sequels? (and all Dan's other books)
These books had the most interesting depiction of AI I've ever seen
>>82537469
>defending anything in that retcon festival that is Endymion
>>82539397
>retcon
Like what?
>>82539953
There are like pages upon pages where the chick Endymion is fucking gives sermons on the mount and tells people that the events portrayed in Hyperion didn't happen or happened in a different manner.
>>82537469
he's right though
hyperion book 1 is god-tier sci-fi
book 2 is fitting ending
last 2 books are dog shit, only memorable scene is the autodoc one
alsoshrike is now friendly protagonistfuck off
>>82536648
hopefully never
seriously, when was the last time you enjoyed an adaptation of anything?
come up with new stories more suitable for /tv/ screens
>>82536648
>hyperion
I would prefer good ol' Azimov fundation
>>82536648
They should make a spin off movie with the shrike.
>>82541122
that I would actually watch
mini-series with 1 episode per book?
>>82538153
>Especially the Consul's tale, though I didn't think it resembled Avatar
Military man from another world goes native after falling in love with the chieftains daughter, then helps to lead an insurrection.
But considering the story of avatar is just gone with the wolves/ferngully/pocahontas/and so on, means you'd have to be a silly dick to use it as an example.
>>82539151
Go read some Samuel R. Delaney or Stanislaw Lem.
Borderlands?
>>82537579
liking mainstream normieness
not even once
Hyperion is a ripoff of Canterbury Tales.
>>82536740
Agreed , they should make a series about the Excession or Player of Games, hell that universe is so vast they could even write up their own script.
>>82543863
no, it rips off its famous framing device
