I think a lot of the stories wouldn't work on screen, and the audience would struggle to understand why people are getting alien crosses melded to their skin, why a guy fucks the Shrike and then sees in slowed time. I don't remember the other stories as well but I think those two were the weirdest

Military man from another world goes native after falling in love with the chieftains daughter, then helps to lead an insurrection.
