this show is what i've been waiting for from other shows like got, vikings. every ep is a solid hour and shit happens. the pacing is fast so every episode feels like it has a lot of content. got me reading the books too since the show is so fast paced, i knew they'd be overlooking some details. near the end of book 3 now.

At some point most of their innovation was about "how I can make the best ship, with the lesser amount of wood?"
Vikings showed a scene where Lagerta is shown a plow and she's like "oh shit nigga, are you guys gods or something?" They stopped giving a fuck about their lands as it was easier for them to plunder shit oversea than till the land. Did they bring back the damn plow? Nope, but they've taken back a few crossbow the season after as it made killing easier for them.

Didn't help that most of the time those that went on raids where fucking people that though themselves too good for farming. That's what losers and slaves are for.

Alfred had no choice. His word was law, Odda broke it, and even through the entire thing worked out if he gave Odda a pass then his other aeldermen would look at it as precedent that they can blow off the King's law and do whatever they want to and get away with anything as long as they win.
