Fox has dozens of profitable IPs in their library that they can afford to take a hit now and then without flinching (X3, Origins, etc).

Meanwhile Sony has produced nothing but bomb after bomb the last couple years and are desperate for some quick cash that they would abandon all pretense of dignity to play the role of the cuck for a rival company.

My question is - what big story can Marvel do after Thanos?

I hope they don't try to put X-Men in the same universe as the Avengers if they ever do get those rights, because it'd be a fucking mess. Fantastic 4 would be good though. Not having Galactus and the Silver Surfer in all of these seems like a waste.

But they have to play nice with Disney for X-Men TV projects like Legion or if they want to make changes to a film character (Fox owns film & TV rights to X-Men/FF characters. They don't own the characters outright).

GotG2 was able to use Fantastic Four characters Ego the Living Planet and the Watchers in exchange for changing the girl from Deadpool's powers.

Apparently Fox wants to kill whatever deal they have with Marvel at some point in 2019 and step away from the shared community. Smart move. Bank on RDJ's charisma and talent and the big Iron Man name to rake in the big bucks.

Marvel'll never get Spider-Man fully at this rate unless they pay through the nose for Peter. And they'll never do that because Peter is a global draw. X-Men work better in their own isolated universe anyway because there's entirely too much shit that happens where it's a mutant's fault that leads to the end of civilization.
