Hope you're on Omaha which was the worst beach because 1. The Yanks refused to use British invasion tools (the other beaches did and were easily through) 2. They launched the only British invasion tool (floatation devices for tanks) too early and only two managed to make it to the beach.

The Crocodile tank (flamethrower on a tough Churchill VII chassis), the barbed wire flattener thing, the mine field and barbed wire remover vehicle and several others made the rest of the beaches for the British/Canadians easy as pie. Omaha was a clusterfuck of Americans being overconfident, stupid and unlucky (blown off course to a better defended area, troops arriving to man the defences a day earlier).

That's the only place you could rack up that many kills without being burned by a tank or flatout overrun by dozens of M4A2's landing on the beaches.
