I love Firefly and though it pains me to say it, getting cancelled after a season was the best thing to happen to it. If TV shows were guaranteed a 1 to 3 season run and no longer than that, then writers would be forced to advance a plot. As it is, they're just masters at prolonging bullshit in the hopes that they can just keep making money.

I've made my peace with the cancellation. Have one season and a full blown movie to close out the story is fine. It's a nicely built universe with a lot of story potential but I'm now glad it didn't outstay it's welcome.
