This review is pretty much confirming my biggest fears regarding the movie:

Jumping in here. You're right about the scanning drones and I agree that Vickers wasn't thinking straight when fleeing the ship, but I have a problem with this:

You say that as if it's better. They had no idea about airborne pathogens or anything else that might have been in the atmosphere, all they knew is it was technically breathable. Even in the Covenant trailer, the spore that produces the backburster gets into the guy's system by entering his ear. I understand that in both cases the entire crew aren't scientists, but common sense would dictate you don't wander around an alien environment without proper protection. It also doesn't change the fact Millburn could plainly see the snake creature was clearly showing warning signs and continued to interact with it. The second the creature "puffed up" and spread its flaps he should have backed off. Again, common sense. .
